Ina time-constrained DSDM project, it is critical to understand the relative importance of the work to be done to make progress and meet deadlines. Prioritization can be used on requirements/User Stories, tasks, products, use cases, acceptance criteria, and tests, but it is most commonly used on requirements/User Stories. (User Stories are a very effective way of defining requirements in an Agile style; for more information, see the later chapter on Requirements and User Stories.)

MoSCoW prioritization is also known as the MoSCoW method or MoSCoW analysis. It is a popular requirement management prioritization technique.

MoSCoW stands for four types of initiatives: must-have, should-have, could-have, won’t-have, or won’t have right now. Some businesses interpret the “W” in MoSCoW to mean “wish.”
