CSV(Comma Separated Values) files can be used for a variety of purposes. However, in this blog, you will be learning to create CSV files for developing Gmail Contacts using MS Excel. Here, I will be using the Excel sheet to create CSV files. Using the CSV file, you can develop a format for importing data.

What are CSV files?

CSV files refer to comma-separated values that can be further presented in tabular format. CSV files can be used with various spreadsheet programs like MS-Excel, Google Sheet. Also, it is used for exporting a high volume of data to a more concentrated database for companies or any other organization.

How are CSV files similar to xlsx files?

Looking at some of the similarities between CSV files and xlsx files, they are as follows:

· Both can be opened in spreadsheet programs.

· Both store data in tabular formats (i.e. columns and rows).

· Both data can be manipulated using functions and features found in Excel.
